Tata Housing Development Company, a fully owned subsidiary of Tata Sons has forayed into a low cost housing project across 67 acres land in Boisar in Mumbai called ‘Shubh Griha’, thus launching its first value homes concept.

THE TARGET AUDIENCE
We would be offering homes to people with an annual household income of Rs. 1.5/- to Rs. 3/- lacs classified as the Lower Income Group. These are typically people currently staying in rental accommodation or ‘Chawls’. They are very conscious of their privacy, which is why their room designs are such that it accommodates more than 5 members. In most such houses, they have a mezzanine floor, to maximize and optimize within the limited space of their home. They do not enjoy even the basic infrastructural facilities, but they are still extremely socially and religiously inclined and indulge in celebrating all such occasions with enviable enthusiasm. Financially they are not well to do but are open to more investment options than just bank Fixed Deposits and Post offices. They are now a more confident lot. Their major needs are having more space as the family has extended and better lifestyle for their family.
